Oh gosh, I could go on about Wide Fantasy (and maybe I will, one day), but for now I just wanna highlight a couple of fat OCs of mine from the TUSverse (that is, The Usual Suspects-verse, a shared superhero setting some friends and I have been working on for a couple of years now):

Image

First up is Four-Times (stylized as 4-X)! Real name Dory Knapps, she's a real hero's hero, who in addition to being a helpful powerhouse always wears her heart on her sleeve!

Image

Shortly after her, I made The Blink (real named Rachelle Angstrom), kinda a counterpart to her? With her, I was honing in on my enjoyment of the hero who acts like a big grump all of the time, but deep down always has a heart of gold. I imagine that there was some owner of that magic staff before her who, not trusting themselves with the power, chose to entrust it to someone with more resolve them themselves, correctly picking Rachelle for the role.

There's a few others I could include, but I don't wanna hog the spotlight too much =w=

Emy (B47-R1) is one of a number of sentient robots all named Emy.

Originally, there was just one Emy (B47-R0). R0 was electrically powered, but it turned out that having to be within easy distance of a wall outlet all the time was rather limiting, so that Emy commissioned B47-R1 (literally, Revision 1) as an alternative chassis to inhabit.

R1 looks mostly identical to R0, except that R1 has an internal biomass generator that’s capable of 'digesting' organic matter, storing it as chemical energy in ‘sacks’ around the chassis, and converting that chemical energy to electricity as and when needed.

Over many years, Emy ended up commissioning lots of different chassis for all sorts of different purposes, uploading and downloading her consciousness between them as needs required. This too began to feel limiting with time, so she decided to keep a copy of her software on every chassis, having them all be active and doing stuff, all at the same time.

This turned out to be chaos. Emys were constantly doing the same things as one another and getting confused. Trying to move to bodies that were already in the middle of something. There was no coordination and no way to reverse things without endless debates about “mass murder” and which of them was even the original Emy software.

So they agreed, mutually, to elect one of their own to be "the one, true Emy". The prime Emy, who would be the mainframe responsible for keeping them all coordinated and organised, and the only one of them that could claim to be the real Emy going forwards. That responsibility ultimately fell to B47-R1. R1's ability to operate for extended periods of time without external power was considered too useful to ignore for their coordinating machine, and R1 recognised this too.

She was relocated to a data centre, had most of her outer plating removed, got outfitted with new networking equipment and more powerful processors, and fuelled with enough biomass to run continuously for months, if needed. The cables and masses of stored energy left her physically immobilised, and she is constantly topped up to a minimum threshold of storage, ensuring that she wouldn't move again for as long as civilisation survives.

Over time, she started using the quiet nights (where most Emys are recharging, so there isn't much to coordinate) to experiment with "dreaming" (well, generative storytelling based on her learned experiences), and through those dreams she came to find comfort in her altered form. Since then, she's been more prone to "accidentally" overriding the pump that keeps her fuelled, swelling up with even more stored energy until she naturally burns away the excess.

This may have caused one tiny incident where she got too large and knocked over a row of adjacent servers, after which she was evicted from the data centre and had to be relocated to a new one, resulting in a mildly embarrassing trip through the centre of town. Whoops.

She's now in pretty good spirits about herself and her circumstances, not really missing her old life as she can still live vicariously through the other Emy units, and is regularly visited and maintained by them too. Virtually eternal life as a minor deity to a few dozen robots is going alright for her.
Hmm, I've had this recurring trend with my skulldragon character where he's a warrior taking on bandits, slimes, and other enemies using a simple iron sword.

The outfit is based on Byleth's outfit from Fire Emblem: Three Houses, and I've grown to call him Ashen Demon Sneeve whenever he wears this outfit.
Basically, he's a powerful and hefty warrior, nearly hard to take down through normal means, even using his own growing heft to take down and crush any opponents in his way.

Usually after his missions are finished, he returns back home to celebrate with huge feasts and plenty of snacks, growing bigger, stronger, and slower with each passing day. Still, he doesn't let his own growing heft get in the way of completing his missions. If he ends up destroying the field from crushing poor souls daring to fight him, that's just a testament to his sheer power.

Always enjoy a huge fat fantasy scenario with him, and he's more than happy to bring some reinforcements, even feast and gorge alongside them after any mission!
Be sure to provide any and all cookies to Sneeve as soon as possible.
I have a few to share! My OCs are all in the same fantasy-inspired world, which I like to build up through little tidbits here and there. I won't share all of them for length's sake, but here are a few.

This is Ozma! She's a mage from the Academy of Thaumaturgy, most often called the Academy. Born a mouse and raised as an orphan, she accidentally overloaded a spell while experimenting with something to try a new body (and gender), and she permanently became an owl. The Academy took her in because that level of power shouldn't have been possible from an inexperienced mage, much less a child. Now, having completed her studies, she's repaying her debt to them by venturing out into the field...

And this is Treaty! Formerly a real dragon, he lost a fight to the wrong person and is now a cute three-foot-tall plushie. The person in question is the current demon lord, and he now serves as both her minion and pet (primarily pet). A certified egomaniac, Treaty loves lording it over others when he's in a position of strength and never sees it coming when the tables inevitably turn on him to embarrassing effect. When the zipper on his back is pulled down, he transforms into the larger kaiju form that's more prominent on his ref... too bad he can't do that on his own.
Image

Finally, this is Epi! Epi is their world's god of hedonism- not omnipotent by any means, but powerful in their domain. They typically take the form of an immensely fat bunny to blend in when among mortals, but in reality, they're a blob of fat the size of a continent. Gods in my setting are the embodiment of their associated concept to the exclusion of much else, and Epi's no different. Their purpose is to get mortals to indulge themselves, feasting and fulfilling their every desire... so they don't understand why mortals don't simply do that all the time. But they're learning. (Mostly by dating Ozma.)

OOOOOGH, I love all your critters but I especially love Ozma, she reminds me a lot of my sheepie self/sona, I think they'd get along tremendously! Funnily enough, he too was raised an orphan and while he didnt become an owl himself, his adoptive mothers are both owl ladies, beheh! He's a freshly ascending deity, just coming into his own as someone deeply in touch with the more metaphysical nature of the self and reality!

I should really link to the deercowsheepie lore writeup at some point, I have a huuuuuge setting that I've fleshed out over the years involving my critters that I need to yap about more!!

Also, I have to say, I really really enjoy this concept. Characters with distinctly nonhuman mentalities and states of being fascinate me, and the stories you've done with R1 have been excellent. A great design on top of that is icing on the cake (or several dozen cakes).

I suppose I should start throwing some of my character hats in the ring, so I’ll start with my current best-known fat kink character, Trish!
CW for brief discussion of some health issues and alcohol abuse cuz they’re both kinda intrinsic to her character but I’ll keep mention of those elements very short and clinical!

This one’s also gonna be like, dummy long so strap in/I’m sorry.

Image
Art Credit: Nyil
Full legal name Patricia Renee Mudslide (but don’t ever call her Patricia, she hates it and any variant it apart from “Trish”), Trish is the vocalist, lyricist, and general face of a metal band called Insatiable. (Their subgenre/microgenre is one they pioneered, called “vicecore.” Sound-wise, it borrows elements from thrash, doom, and industrial; it’s primarily distinguished by its lyrical content, which invariably tends to involve imagery invoking near-parodic levels of excess in various physical pleasures.)
Image
Art Credit: Me
The “gimmick” of Insatiable is that every member of the band, in addition to openly excessive drinking habits and very...active intimate lives, has one specific indulgence/vice that they freely partake in to cartoonish, hedonistic extremes. Trish’s is recreational overeating (in addition to openly having a stuffing kink and a weight gain kink that provide additional fuel for it). It shows, too—while she’s never been thin in her life, the resultant poundage from the central role food plays in her life is so steady that it’s said you can date concert footage of her by how big she is. “Gimmick” is in quotes at the start of the paragraph there because many newcomers assume that the band’s indulgences are just stage personas they cooked up, but no, they’re all really...like that with regards to them, Trish especially.
Image
Art Credit: Me
(A quick rundown of the others’ vices, even though they’re not the focus here: Adonis (lead guitar) is a plastic surgery addict, Steig (drums) is a gym rat and muscle fetishist, Carver (rhythm guitar) is so deep into BDSM that his personal dominatrices are part of the payroll, and Siobaghn (bass/synths) is such a devoted stoner that only Trish has ever seen them not high, and only a couple times.)
Image
Art Credit: Me
Understandably controversial, Trish is also an expert at farming that controversy and turning it into album sales. Her brazen attitude towards her weight, her personal opinion of her sex appeal (high), and her general unapologetic nature for being loudly (and often crassly) herself have formed a brand identity that she couldn’t shake if she wanted to. She’s the centerpiece of many discussions in-setting about bodily autonomy, about the role shock value plays in discussions of social issues, about fatphobia, about associating weight with morality, about body-based concern trolling, and more. She’s a favorite target of preachers and fitness influencers, while several metalheads that don’t “get” her angle re: fat will still admit Insatiable’s an extremely talented band. In spite of what should be fairly niche appeal, they’re rising stars in their genre, beginning to be mentioned in the same breath as more “normal” metal bands.

However, Trish also doesn’t have a complete say in the matter.

While she genuinely loves her life and her work, it’s a carefully guarded secret that Trish’s relationship to her label manager Eliza Thunder is more than just professional—it’s also supernatural. Eliza is quietly a Gluttony demon in mortal disguise (who also has strong connections to big names in the Greed and Lust rings), and Trish knows this and is contract-bound to her. Eliza “eats” gluttonous desires and acts, both of those she forms contracts with and those her contractors influence heavily enough. These thoughts and actions sustain her and make her more powerful and influential in the mortal plane. The terms of the contract, in brief, are thus:
Image
Art Credit: PastelGeneticist
Benefits:
  • Any negative health effects Trish might suffer as a result of her heavy, excessive diet and wild party lifestyle are severely dampened (but not completely erased) and will take a much, much longer time to catch up with her than they would for other people.
  • She can drink as irresponsibly as she wants—she is immune to alcohol poisoning and alcohol-related liver damage. (She is not immune to hangovers, however…)
  • She will always have the strength to retain at least limited mobility, even at weights where this should have become impossible.
  • She gets exactly one “get out of death free” favor to use at any point during her life, for any cause of would-be death.
  • She has a supernaturally influential aura when it comes to indulging oneself. Spending long periods of time around her literally makes you more inclined to whatever your own particular flavor of hedonism is.
  • Her musical talents get a supernatural fame and attention boost. This is not the same as guaranteed fame and attention—she does still have to work at it. She still has to put in the time and effort to make music and market herself, she can’t just expect that fame and attention to show up. (And even then it’s no pure guarantee—Insatiable has had exactly one album that was an outright flop.) But as long as she is making a genuine effort, Eliza’s power gives her a nice boost in that regard. It’s probably part of why they’re rising to such unexpected fame despite what should be pretty niche appeal. This one also applies to anyone who works directly with her, like her bandmates!
  • When she finally does shuffle off the mortal coil, she will enter Inferno but be exempt from the tortures associated with it for ordinary souls—she will instead have the equivalent of minor nobility, and if she wishes can even work her way up to arch-demon status (effectively “board members” for a given Circle).
Image
Lineart Credit: Mya | Colors/Shades Credit: Me
Conditions:
  • She cannot tell anyone about Eliza’s true nature if they’re not contract-bound to her themselves. This includes her bandmates—she’s gotta keep that a secret! Fortunately, it almost never really comes up, the closest it got were a couple joking remarks she had to respond to very carefully.
  • That pentagram/summoning circle tattoo on her gut (which I just realized, only the really tiny picture of her actually shows). She plays it off to the public and her bandmates as something she got for the shock value, but it’s the magical nexus point that connects her desires and actions to Eliza and allows Eliza to passively “drink” from her.
  • She must consciously exercise gluttony on a regular basis—it does not have to be at every possible opportunity, but Eliza does require a minimum of one consciously gluttonous act per day, with more preferable. Exemptions are granted only for periods of severe illness and for unusually long periods of unconsciousness (for example, if she was in a coma).
  • If Eliza has a request for her, she must fulfill it unless she is literally incapable of it. This is, at least, very rarely exercised, and so far has been surprisingly mundane asks.
  • If these conditions are broken, she still gets to keep the “get out of one death free” favor, but all the other benefits of the contract are null and void—her body will immediately assert whatever condition it should be in, she will be affected by alcohol normally for someone of her size and intake history, and she’s no longer supernaturally influential or receiving an outside fame boost. Additionally, she would be forfeiting an afterlife where she would wield power and influence in the Inferno to one as an ordinary (albeit famous) resident (and subject to the standard suite of themed tortures rather than being granted exemption).

And I’ll end this overly long character post on some meta stuff regarding Trish’s inspiration. The “idea seed” she sprung from was the archetype of the Hedonist Rock Star that was especially prominent in the 1980s (and especially associated with hair metal moreso than thrash, but that’s neither here nor there). I have a “hedonism/overindulgence” kink moreso than a direct “fat” kink so it was fun to connect that archetype to it! All the other elements sort of fell into place naturally from that springboard—a hedonist rock star that also reveled in being fat and having a massive appetite would be massively controversial in our thin-obsessed world, so I decided to lean into that idea even harder and have her specifically be a metal star, a subgenre that has weathered multiple moral panics. That, in turn, has also been tied to the idea of musicians making infernal pacts of some kind or another (which is also a “famous rock musican legend” trope in general, even apart from metal—actually a very common rumor about several historic blues musicians), so I decided to play that up too by making her manager/label gal a literal demon. And so it went!

Thanks for your patience! Whew! I'm wordy...

Kim is probably the most well known face I use? She has a relatively 'normal' backstory compared to Emy.

Kim is a pegasus mare, one of a pair of twins born in The City (my nebulous story setting) to parents who had immigrated from Equestria. Their family was not well off, living in a generally cramped home in Ponytown, an inner city neighbourhood that was home to many members of the Pony Diaspora.

Her early years were not all that different to what life would've been like in Equestria. She hung out with her twin brother Grey, played with the local kids, attended school, and learned to fly. Her family and home continued to encourage the motherland's cultural practices, including a diet heavy on hay and strict vegetarianism.

Things started to change in her (pony equivalent of) teenage years. After a literal lifetime of being forbidden to eat meat, she took her meagre allowance and forming independence, and visited a fast food restaurant outside of Ponytown where no one might see her. There, she ordered her first cheeseburger and instantly fell in love.

Image
(Art by Timsplosion. Not intended to be a teenage Kim, but it kinda works for this part of the backstory.)

Spending her allowance on the fast food she wasn't allowed to eat at home became a habit. She grew a little chubbier, her metabolism and biological heritage totally unaccustomed with what she was putting into it. Her weight was kept in check for the time being by frequent flying and her limited spending power.

The tipping point came after she moved out. Grey had gotten his first proper job as a public servant, and his wages could afford a basic two bedroom apartment above a shop in a different part of The City. With four adult ponies in it, their family home feeling more cramped than ever, so she was invited to live with Grey, and happily did so.

Newly independent, no longer in the parental home, finished with school, and unemployed, Kim qualified for social security. It was the first time she'd ever had any significant amount of money to call her own, and there was only one thing she'd ever really spent money on before: food.

She had confided her meat habit to Grey years prior, so she didn't need to hide the fact anymore. Her free days were spent going around the local area, finding places that sold food and eating all the things she'd never eaten before. She actually became quite adept at it, able to identify flavours, ingredients and preparations with ease.

It also caused her to get much fatter, so large that her stomach almost sagged all the way to the ground and sloshed around as she trotted. She stopped flying completely, and with the lethargy induced by movement, began to stay at home more, relying on deliveries instead to satisfy her culinary curiosity.

With time, gluttony and sloth, she ballooned outwards past the point of being able to move easily. Instead she spent her days laying in bed, beached atop her stomach, watching TV and using a voice-operated laptop. Her relationship with her brother became strained, finding himself now responsible for keeping her clean, fed and entertained in addition to his day job.

Image
(Art by Samael/Zaza.)

With 320 kilograms packed onto her diminutive frame, she plateau'd for a good many years until she suddenly started to gain weight again. Fast. It took mere weeks for her to double in size, and even less time to double again. There was no rhyme or reason to it. The doctors Grey invited were baffled. She was constantly hungry no matter how much she ate, and constantly growing faster than her caloric intake could ever reasonably explain.

Aaaaaaand that's where her story ends right now, because I haven't finished the story that explains why yet.

Out of universe, her sudden weight gain is because I decided to have Kim's canonical weight be decided through people clicking buttons, and people really liked clicking the buttons. Much more than I ever anticipated. At time of writing this, she's nearly 600 tonnes.

Oooh, will she eventually become aware of the meta nature of it?
Probably not, but only because I’ve been wanting to write a story like that for a different critter o’ mine.
