What it says on the tin! Discuss games you've played recently here: TTRPGs, board games, card games, take your pick. I figured this should be a separate topic from a "recent video games" thread, which I'll leave for someone else to make just so I don't make too many threads =v=

I recently played Rallyman: DIRT while at some friends of mine's house over the weekend! It can be played with other people or solo

You roll dice to see who can get the fastest track time on the board. There are dice for the numbers 1-6 representing speed, two white coast dice, two orange coast dice, and one red break dice. You have to place dice numbers in order (1, 2, 3, ect) on the board, using your coasting dice to maintain that speed, but can choose to use the break dice to jump down (but not up) more than one digit. Each die has 1-2 warning symbols, and if you get 3 of them in a single turn you'll waste time and possibly damage your car depending on how fast you're going.

Its necessary to adjust your speed and not always go at 6 because of the turns, where your car can only be at or below a certain speed or else risk a crash. Also, you can choose to roll all your dice at once to earn tokens that can be used to guarantee a good roll or to shave seconds off your race time at the end of the round, but rolling one at a time means you can end your turn if you get two warning rolls. There's several other features too, but I'd take up too much time explaining them all.

It's really fun!! I'm not too good at summarizing, admittedly, but hopefully I could get enough of it across =v=;;. There's a lot of strategization to picking what dice you'll roll and measuring the worth of risky but beneficial moves. I definitely recommend it if you can get your hands on it!

Other stuff tends to wax and wane, but Ticket to Ride, in all its variants, is our constant cosy game.

Over the course of this year, I've been running Deadball: Baseball With Dice for some friends of mine. Thanks to the nature of baseball, it's pretty hands-off for the individual people involved. In the context of the game, they own the teams, while a very basic oracle helps their Field Manager decide what to do during the game.

Because of this, I can run it entirely on my own for the most part, and report back to my friends how their clubs are doing on the field.

At the start of the year, I hosted the first season of "Baseball Dungeon," which turned out like so! In a surprise ending, the Bridgewater Rogue Waves looked like they were going to get quickly booted out of the championship, only to go off on a three-game win streak to turn the tide against the ToC Answers. These are the kinds of narratives that the simple rules produce as soon as you start putting names (and funny nicknames) to the numbers!

Image
Soon, we'll be starting our second season of play, which will see us bringing two new (for our standards) teams into the fray and seeing how they fare!

For someone who's been itching for a while to be able to simulate and track stats and things like that, Deadball is an absolute godsend. If you wanna get into baseball, try using Fake Furry Baseball as an in!

Our D&D group has been running a campaign in the Final Fantasy Legend Edition system! It's pretty neat, It shares some DNA with shadow of the demon lord which I really appreciate! maybe a touch too heavy on the rules portion of things for an rp-brained critter like me but I've been having fun with it regardless!

Currently, the only campaign we're in is a 5E D&D campaign using the APPLE system. We were in a 4E campaign as well that unfortunately had to wind down due to life conflicts. Been searching for more campaigns (...especially of the Funny variety) but so far not much luck.

Game about trading stuff with ships and moving it to an island. It was kinda neat!

I've been running and playing in 5e campaigns, and I've been cooking on an experimental PBP 2PRPG that's very roleplay heavy. It's a lot of work to manage but very fun watching players come up with interesting solutions.
