Slice of Life Fatfur

Something I REALLY adore but honestly don't see enough of? Slice of life fatfur! Both as like, fat being a normalized thing and a standout in daily situations...

I love love LOOOOOVE worldbuilding that accommodates for fatter critters... Widened walkways and infrastructure maintained specifically to help large enormous critters across town.... Architecture with mobility railing and fat bodies in mind, Blob living districts, etc etc! I think it's really cute and aside from a handful of artists I don't think I've seen many people really lean into it!

by that same measure, I also think it's really cute and also a little size validating to explore the daily struggles that come from being big in a world that still functions as normal, having to crowd onto trains and public transit, having to take back dock entrances to grocery stores and stuff cause the doors just, aren't wide enough, etc etc... There's also something kinda special about it in it own way!

That is to say! What's your favorite slice of fatfur life? Got any specific fantasies you'd wanna ramble about? IN a more accommodating world or otherwise!
THIS is a certified deercowsheepie classic....

I love the idea of huge mobile blobs still living their lives like normal, having extra accommodations for their wide figures wherever they go.

Wide open spaces catered to the larger people at restaurants, garage door entryways and warehousing, sidewalks that can sustain those hefty wobbling blobby stomps, and the usual abundance of foods, meals, desserts, and snacks!

Getting to hang out with equally huge and hungry blobs, slamming massive figures with one another and sending waves of fat and flab jiggling for who knows how long, as they go out to eat, watch movies, or play video games together, always a great time!

Oh, you are absolutely preaching to the choir here 'cause that is DEFINITELY now my favourite stuff re: this side of the net now!

I really enjoy and have profound interests in portraying characters who're much larger than what the societal goalposts have decided is okay be normalised and accepted. Even to a point of having an aire of non-judgmentality even when highlighting the more direct realities of being such sizes. (Remind me to actually try and see how far I go with a Nell-related slice-of-life comic project I've been meaning to do for years...)

As for the more broadly speculative world-accomodatory version of this, I have dabbled in worldbuilding for a setting where fatness no matter how big is more accepted, understood, catered to and validated at large but I got stuck developing *that* out because I got way too into the way greater details of part of the setting that are only tangibly related to fatness and because I got concerned on the balance I was striking with having a world that felt tangible and organic rather than have everything no matter how related link back to fatness in a more surface horty-torty way. May return to those ideas though, if I have the drive and time to do so!

But yeah, my big thing with how I do fat art and exploring concepts/scenarios with characters of bigger sizes is besides my own feelings of validity and expression, I want anybody in the community or outside who happen to be """too fat""" for regular mainstream media to handle non-judgmentally and understandingly in the community to see what I do and feel like they're being represented in the kind of fairer and more accepting ways that society or mainstream media refuses to let them have. I just figured you really don't know how much of that group there are out there who'd be receptive if you don't make an effort to try and be open/visible about trying to build and create the kind of stuff a better world for them would have, y'know? I'm still learning and understanding on how to get this right, but trying is better than not doing anything.
Slice of life stuff is suuuuper underrated ;-; and (at least t' me!) a lot more fun than "and then they got bigger"
