I suppose I should start throwing some of my character hats in the ring, so I’ll start with my current best-known fat kink character,
Trish!
CW for brief discussion of some health issues and alcohol abuse cuz they’re both kinda intrinsic to her character but I’ll keep mention of those elements very short and clinical!
This one’s also gonna be like,
dummy long so strap in/I’m sorry.

Full legal name
Patricia Renee Mudslide (but don’t
ever call her Patricia, she hates it and any variant it apart from “Trish”), Trish is the vocalist, lyricist, and general face of a metal band called
Insatiable. (Their subgenre/microgenre is one they pioneered, called
“vicecore.” Sound-wise, it borrows elements from thrash, doom, and industrial; it’s primarily distinguished by its lyrical content, which invariably tends to involve imagery invoking near-parodic levels of excess in various physical pleasures.)

The “gimmick” of Insatiable is that every member of the band, in addition to openly excessive drinking habits and very...
active intimate lives, has one specific indulgence/vice that they freely partake in to cartoonish, hedonistic extremes. Trish’s is
recreational overeating (in addition to openly having a stuffing kink and a weight gain kink that provide additional fuel for it). It shows, too—while she’s never been thin in her life, the resultant poundage from the central role food plays in her life is so steady that it’s said you can date concert footage of her by how big she is. “Gimmick” is in quotes at the start of the paragraph there because many newcomers assume that the band’s indulgences are just stage personas they cooked up, but no, they’re all really...
like that with regards to them, Trish especially.

(A quick rundown of the others’ vices, even though they’re not the focus here: Adonis (lead guitar) is a plastic surgery addict, Steig (drums) is a gym rat and muscle fetishist, Carver (rhythm guitar) is so deep into BDSM that his personal dominatrices are part of the payroll, and Siobaghn (bass/synths) is such a devoted stoner that only Trish has ever seen them not high, and only a couple times.)

Understandably controversial, Trish is also an
expert at farming that controversy and turning it into album sales. Her brazen attitude towards her weight, her personal opinion of her sex appeal (high), and her general unapologetic nature for being loudly (and often crassly)
herself have formed a brand identity that she couldn’t shake if she wanted to. She’s the centerpiece of many discussions in-setting about bodily autonomy, about the role shock value plays in discussions of social issues, about fatphobia, about associating weight with morality, about body-based concern trolling, and more. She’s a favorite target of preachers and fitness influencers, while several metalheads that don’t “get” her angle re: fat will still admit Insatiable’s an extremely talented band. In spite of what should be fairly niche appeal, they’re rising stars in their genre, beginning to be mentioned in the same breath as more “normal” metal bands.

However, Trish also doesn’t have a complete say in the matter.
While she
genuinely loves her life and her work, it’s a carefully guarded secret that Trish’s relationship to her label manager
Eliza Thunder is more than just professional—it’s also
supernatural. Eliza is quietly a Gluttony demon in mortal disguise (who also has strong connections to big names in the Greed and Lust rings), and Trish knows this and is contract-bound to her. Eliza “eats” gluttonous desires and acts, both of those she forms contracts with and those her contractors influence heavily enough. These thoughts and actions sustain her and make her more powerful and influential in the mortal plane. The terms of the contract, in brief, are thus:

Benefits:
- Any negative health effects Trish might suffer as a result of her heavy, excessive diet and wild party lifestyle are severely dampened (but not completely erased) and will take a much, much longer time to catch up with her than they would for other people.
- She can drink as irresponsibly as she wants—she is immune to alcohol poisoning and alcohol-related liver damage. (She is not immune to hangovers, however…)
- She will always have the strength to retain at least limited mobility, even at weights where this should have become impossible.
- She gets exactly one “get out of death free” favor to use at any point during her life, for any cause of would-be death.
- She has a supernaturally influential aura when it comes to indulging oneself. Spending long periods of time around her literally makes you more inclined to whatever your own particular flavor of hedonism is.
- Her musical talents get a supernatural fame and attention boost. This is not the same as guaranteed fame and attention—she does still have to work at it. She still has to put in the time and effort to make music and market herself, she can’t just expect that fame and attention to show up. (And even then it’s no pure guarantee—Insatiable has had exactly one album that was an outright flop.) But as long as she is making a genuine effort, Eliza’s power gives her a nice boost in that regard. It’s probably part of why they’re rising to such unexpected fame despite what should be pretty niche appeal. This one also applies to anyone who works directly with her, like her bandmates!
- When she finally does shuffle off the mortal coil, she will enter Inferno but be exempt from the tortures associated with it for ordinary souls—she will instead have the equivalent of minor nobility, and if she wishes can even work her way up to arch-demon status (effectively “board members” for a given Circle).

Conditions:
- She cannot tell anyone about Eliza’s true nature if they’re not contract-bound to her themselves. This includes her bandmates—she’s gotta keep that a secret! Fortunately, it almost never really comes up, the closest it got were a couple joking remarks she had to respond to very carefully.
- That pentagram/summoning circle tattoo on her gut (which I just realized, only the really tiny picture of her actually shows). She plays it off to the public and her bandmates as something she got for the shock value, but it’s the magical nexus point that connects her desires and actions to Eliza and allows Eliza to passively “drink” from her.
- She must consciously exercise gluttony on a regular basis—it does not have to be at every possible opportunity, but Eliza does require a minimum of one consciously gluttonous act per day, with more preferable. Exemptions are granted only for periods of severe illness and for unusually long periods of unconsciousness (for example, if she was in a coma).
- If Eliza has a request for her, she must fulfill it unless she is literally incapable of it. This is, at least, very rarely exercised, and so far has been surprisingly mundane asks.
- If these conditions are broken, she still gets to keep the “get out of one death free” favor, but all the other benefits of the contract are null and void—her body will immediately assert whatever condition it should be in, she will be affected by alcohol normally for someone of her size and intake history, and she’s no longer supernaturally influential or receiving an outside fame boost. Additionally, she would be forfeiting an afterlife where she would wield power and influence in the Inferno to one as an ordinary (albeit famous) resident (and subject to the standard suite of themed tortures rather than being granted exemption).

And I’ll end this overly long character post on some meta stuff regarding Trish’s inspiration. The “idea seed” she sprung from was the archetype of the
Hedonist Rock Star that was especially prominent in the 1980s (and especially associated with hair metal moreso than thrash, but that’s neither here nor there). I have a “hedonism/overindulgence” kink moreso than a direct “fat” kink so it was fun to connect that archetype to it! All the other elements sort of fell into place naturally from that springboard—a hedonist rock star that also reveled in being fat and having a massive appetite would be
massively controversial in our thin-obsessed world, so I decided to lean into that idea even harder and have her specifically be a metal star, a subgenre that has weathered multiple moral panics.
That, in turn, has also been tied to the idea of musicians making infernal pacts of some kind or another (which is also a “famous rock musican legend” trope in general, even apart from metal—actually a very common rumor about several historic blues musicians), so I decided to play that up too by making her manager/label gal a literal demon. And so it went!
Thanks for your patience! Whew! I'm wordy...
